Long day care and childcare near Ryde.

About 3 kilometres from central Ryde. A 79-place long day care centre for children from 6 weeks to 6 years on Mons Avenue, West Ryde. Multicultural, every meal cooked on site, Child Care Subsidy approved.

Ryde is one of Sydney's larger and more multicultural municipalities, with many preschools and long day care centres across the area. Families come to us when they want long day care hours (full day, full week, all year), continuity from babies through to school readiness, and a centre where multilingualism is normal.

Childcare in Ryde and West Ryde

If you're searching for childcare in Ryde, you're looking at the same broad area we draw most of our families from: West Ryde, Meadowbank, Eastwood, Ermington, Denistone, Dundas Valley and Ryde proper. We are a long day care centre, which means we run from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 50 weeks a year, with daily meals, a structured education program and Child Care Subsidy approval.

That suits families who need full working-week cover. Some Ryde-based families choose a community preschool or a sessional preschool program (shorter hours, usually 9am to 3pm, school terms only). Both kinds of care are good options; ours suits working families.

Why families from Ryde choose us

The reasons families travel from Ryde to Mons Avenue come up again and again:

  • Continuity. Children can stay with us from 6 weeks to 6 years, with the same educators across years.
  • Languages. Our team between them speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Tagalog, Spanish, Hindi and English. Settling in is easier when an educator can talk to your child in the language you use at home.
  • Food. Every meal is cooked on site by our chef. Vegetarian, allergy and intolerance dietary needs are handled in the kitchen, not asked of parents.
  • The same director since 2007. A director who stays that long makes a difference in small ways: how educators talk to families, how transitions are handled, how feedback is acted on.

The drive in

From the heart of Ryde (around the Top Ryde shopping centre), the most common route is south on Blaxland Road, then onto Victoria Road, then turning into Mons Avenue. About 8 to 12 minutes off-peak, slightly longer in morning peak. Parking is on site at the centre, so you do not need to look for street parking.

From the western side of Ryde (towards Meadowbank or Putney), Victoria Road is the most direct way through.

Train and bus options

Meadowbank Station is one stop from West Ryde Station on the T9 Northern Line, and West Ryde Station is a short walk to the centre. A handful of our Ryde-based families use train or bus on alternating days. Sydney Buses run multiple routes along Victoria Road that pass close to the centre.

Our 4 rooms

The centre runs 4 rooms by age band:

  • Joeys for babies (0 to 2)
  • Jungle for toddlers (2 to 3)
  • Star for younger preschoolers (3 to 4)
  • Rainbow for school-readiness (4 to 6)

Children move up when they're ready, in consultation with families. There's no fixed cut-off date.

Fees and Child Care Subsidy

Daily fees are $180 (Joeys), $170 (Jungle) and $165 (Star and Rainbow) before Child Care Subsidy. Most families pay considerably less after CCS. From 5 January 2026, the 3 Day Guarantee replaced the activity test: every CCS-eligible family can now get at least 72 hours of subsidised care per fortnight (3 days a week) regardless of how much work or study you do.

Use the CCS gap-fee calculator to estimate your out-of-pocket fee.

What's included

All 5 daily meals, cooked on site by our chef. Education program. Cancer Council Kids 50+ sunscreen. Disposable nappies for the under-3s. You pack a change of clothes, a sleep comforter, and a labelled water bottle.

Hours

7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks a year. Closed on public holidays and for two weeks over Christmas.
