Why Meadowbank families choose us

Meadowbank has changed a lot over the last decade. The Shepherds Bay precinct near the station now has thousands of apartments, and many of them are young families.

For parents working in the CBD, North Sydney, Macquarie Park or Epping, the train commute from Meadowbank is straightforward. Our 7am opening means you can drop off, catch the 7:15am or 7:30am train, and be in the office before nine. Pickup runs until six, which covers most commuters arriving home.

From the station to us

It's a flat, easy walk: out of the station, along Constitution Road, left onto Anzac Avenue, then a few hundred metres to Mons Avenue. About ten minutes with a pram or with a hand to hold. Several Meadowbank families do this twice a day and prefer it to driving.

For driving families

If you're driving from the older part of Meadowbank (towards See Street and the river), it's a four-minute trip via See Street and Anzac Avenue. Parking is on site at the centre. Drop-off has dedicated spots out front for quick drop-offs.

Our 4 rooms

The centre runs 4 rooms by age band, from babies through to school-readiness:

  • Joeys Room (0–2 years) for our youngest learners
  • Jungle Room (2–3 years, 1:5 ratio), up to 15 children
  • Star Room (3–4 years)
  • Rainbow Room (4–6 years), focused on school readiness

Children move up to the next room when they're ready, in the same building, often with friends they've had since they started.

What's included in the daily fee

All 5 daily meals (breakfast for the early arrivals, morning tea, hot cooked lunch, afternoon tea, and a late afternoon snack). The education program. Cancer Council Kids 50+ sunscreen. Disposable nappies for the Joeys and Jungle rooms. You pack a change of clothes, a sleep comforter, and a labelled water bottle.

For commuting parents, the all-meals-included aspect is a particular relief. You do not need to pack any food: no breakfast, no snacks, no lunch.

Hours and fees

7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks a year. Daily fees are $180 (Joeys), $170 (Jungle), $165 (Star and Rainbow) before Child Care Subsidy. From 5 January 2026, all CCS-eligible families get at least 72 subsidised hours per fortnight (the 3-Day Guarantee). What you actually pay after subsidy depends on your family circumstances and the daily rate cap.
