Why Denistone families choose us

Denistone is a quieter, mostly residential suburb. The childcare options within Denistone itself are limited, and many local families end up in West Ryde or Ryde for care. We're a natural fit because we're close. Our team stays: the same director since 2007, and several educators here over a decade. And we take children from 6 weeks to 6 years, so siblings can attend together.

Another thing parents often mention: West Ryde station is a five-minute drive from Denistone, and Meadowbank station is a six-minute drive. Several of our Denistone parents drop off, walk to the station, and head into Macquarie Park or the city for work. Pickup is the same trip in reverse.

The drive in

The most common route from Denistone is Anzac Avenue south to Mons Avenue. Five minutes most mornings. From the eastern side of Denistone (closer to Eastwood), it's Hillcrest Avenue to Anzac Avenue then Mons. About seven minutes.

Parking is on site at the centre.

The centre runs 4 rooms by age band:

• Joeys for babies (0–2)
• Jungle for toddlers (2–3)
• Star for younger preschoolers (3–4)
• Rainbow for school-readiness (4–6)

Children move up as they grow, in the same building, often with the same friends. That continuity is built into the design of the centre.

What we include

The daily fee covers all daily meals (breakfast, morning tea, hot cooked lunch, afternoon tea, late snack), the education program, sunscreen, and disposable nappies for the Joeys and Jungle rooms. You pack a change of clothes, a sleep comforter if your child uses one, and a labelled water bottle.

At West Ryde, our cook Lorna prepares everything in our kitchen, with a 4-week rotating menu and full accommodation for allergies, intolerances, and cultural or religious dietary requirements. You never pack a lunchbox.

Hours and fees

7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. 50 weeks a year, closed for public holidays and 2 weeks at Christmas. Daily fees are $180 (Joeys), $170 (Jungle), $165 (Star and Rainbow) before Child Care Subsidy.
