Long day care and childcare near Dundas Valley.

About 4 kilometres from Dundas Valley. A 79-place long day care centre for children from 6 weeks to 6 years on Mons Avenue, with the same director since 2007.

Dundas Valley is a slightly quieter family suburb tucked between Carlingford and Ryde, with established homes and many families with young children. Many of our families come from this direction.

Why Dundas Valley families choose us

The childcare options within Dundas Valley itself are mostly preschools running shorter hours. For families who need full-day, full-week care, the closest long day care centres that take babies from 6 weeks are in West Ryde and Ryde. We're one of those.

The other reason we hear from Dundas Valley parents: school readiness. Our Rainbow Room (4–6) prepares children for primary school, and the educators know which schools families in the area tend to head to. Children leaving the Rainbow Room are typically going to Dundas Public, Telopea Public, Carlingford West, or one of the Catholic schools in the area. We plan the school-readiness work around those schools.

The drive in

The most common route is Kissing Point Road south to Victoria Road, then onto Mons Avenue. Ten to fifteen minutes most mornings. The far side of Dundas Valley (towards Carlingford) takes a few minutes longer.

What's included

All daily meals, cooked on site by Lorna our cook (since 2021). Education program. Cancer Council Kids 50+ sunscreen. Disposable nappies for the Joeys and Jungle rooms. You pack a change of clothes, a sleep comforter, and a labelled water bottle.

Allergies, intolerances and vegetarian diets are accommodated in the kitchen. We're a nut-aware centre.

Our team, year by year

Several of our team have been here for over a decade:

  • Corinne, our director, has been here since the centre opened in 2007
  • Ivana, since 2010
  • Jennifer, since 2012
  • Laurie, since 2017
  • Lorna, our cook, since 2021

Plus Suzanne, the Centre Manager across all 4 Eikoh centres, has been with the group since 1996. Continuity matters in early childhood, and the team here is built for it.

Hours and fees

7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks a year. Daily fees are $180 (Joeys, 0–2), $170 (Jungle, 2–3), $165 (Star and Rainbow, 3–6) before Child Care Subsidy. Most families pay considerably less after subsidy is applied.
